Google expected to unveil long-expected gaming project at GDC next month
Whether it's your email or watching cat videos on YouTube, tech Giant Google is already part of our daily lives. Google could be ready to dive headlong into video games. The tech giant revealed on Tuesday that it will be holding a special event at the upcoming Game Developers Conference, scheduled for March 18-22 in San Francisco. The notice invites attendees to "gather around" on Tuesday, March 19, at the Moscone Center for a keynote speech. Chatter online about the event pointed to Google's Project Stream, a PC streaming video game service the company began testing in October and closed last month. Among the games streamed via Google Chrome to computers was Ubisoft's "Assassin's Creed Odyssey," a lush, deep adventure set in ancient Greece.

The first 'Assassin's Creed Odyssey' DLC episode arrives next week
"Legacy of the First Blade," the first of two Assassin's Creed Odyssey DLC expansion storylines, starts next week with its first episode. "Hidden" arrives December 4th and kicks off the story of Darius, who killed the Persian king Xerxes (in the series' lore, at least) and was the first assassin to wield the franchise's trademark hidden blade. In the episode, you'll take part in naval combat, battle new enemies and learn whether Darius is a hero or villain. As in the main game, you can customize your equipment and learn special skills. Ubisoft says the DLC also has some revelations in store about the Assassin's Creed universe.
The Game Awards 2018: God of War and Red Dead dominate
The Christmas countdown clock is ticking, and you might be wondering what games to ask for in your stocking. With so many launching every month, it can be tricky to pick out the must-plays. The Game Awards recognises the best games released every year, and has announced the full list of nominees. Perhaps unsurprisingly Red Dead Redemption II and God of War lead the pack, with eight nominations each. Both were nominated for the highest prize, Game of the Year, alongside Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Celeste, Marvel's Spider-Man and Monster Hunter: World.

The next generation of streaming video games is on its way
There's a specific kind of frustration associated with crappy game-streaming services. It's all about the buildup: You find a game, whether it's something brand new or a long-lost childhood favorite, and boot it up. It takes forever to load. The title screen stutters and your heart drops, but it's easy to convince yourself it was just a bout of preliminary jitters. And then the game begins.

'Assassin's Creed Odyssey' Promises Romance--Then Locks It Away
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is not nearly as romantic as I'd been led to believe. Her name is Odessa, and, a few hours into Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, she's the first person in the entire world I can flirt with. A descendant of Odysseus, supposedly, she's on the island of Ithaca to visit his ruined palace, hoping to find clarity and meaning. Instead, she finds me, Kassandra, a mercenary with a pet eagle. The game tells me I can call her pretty.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey review – an epic journey through ancient Greece
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is aptly named. It is an enormous, meandering journey through ancient Greece at the beginning of the Peloponnesian war as the struggle between Sparta and Athens begins to reshape the Greek world. It will shock you with its breadth and depth: the sea hides sunken ruins, the detail of temple paintings is impeccable, authentically clothed characters wander enormous cities whilst chatting in Greek, soldiers clash on roads as citizens scatter. You play a mercenary, choosing between the equally statuesque and self-assured Kassandra or Alexios. There is an element of family drama that propels the story forward in counterpart to the overarching historical drama of the setting.
